Welcome to the Backbone Cushion Company. We are an Austin-based, woman-owned, e-commerce business started in 2011. We provide cost-effective and ergonomic back care products to companies and individuals around the US and Canada. These products have been invented, developed and patented by Danielle Vernon, orthopedic PT, certified ergonomist, spine specialist and educator. Danielle has worked with thousands of patients and clients throughout her 20 years of experience and has taken the best parts of many ideas and the deficits in the market reported by her clients to produce a better way of supporting your back while you sit.

Danielle Vernon, PT has specialized in orthopedic PT, postural restoration and ergonomics for over 20 years. In her extensive career working with teams & individuals, managing clinics & developing community programs to return injured workers back to work, her greatest pride is having taken all the feedback from her patients to invent & patent the Backbone Cushion. In her extensive career working with teams & individuals, managing clinics & developing community programs to return injured workers back to work, her greatest pride is having taken all the feedback from her patients to invent & patent the Backbone Cushion. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that there is now something on the market that is cost-effective and adaptive for all those bad chair designs out there so that people have a better option to sit more comfortably without damaging their spines.

Danielle Vernon, CEO of Backbone Cushion Co. and ScolioAustin, invented the backbone cushion with 20+ years of physical therapist expertise. Danielle, PT, CEAS, received her BA in Physical Therapy from University of Alberta, Canada and advanced ergonomic credentialing from the Back School of Atlanta.
